At the end of this presentation, the participant will be able to:
  1. Classify the extent of a patient's heart failure using the AHA/ACC HF Staging System and/or NYHA Functional Classification System.
  2. Identify mechanisms of action and common adverse effects of drug classes utilized to manage heart failure.
  3. Examine patient medication regimens for opportunities to optimize HFrEF and HFpEF therapy.
  4. Describe the impact certain medications have on mortality and HF hospitalizations based on clinical trial results.
