After attending the program, the pharmacist and pharmacy technician should be able to:
    • Recognize the risks and benefits of intravenous (IV) versus oral (PO) antibiotic therapy, and understand when PO antibiotic therapy is appropriate and how dosing strategies may differ with a PO regimen.
    • Discuss the efficacy and safety of oral antibiotics for the treatment of gram-negative infections and gram-positive blood stream infections.
    • Identify optimal ways to utilize oral antibiotics for gram-negative and gram-positive bloodstream infections.
